June 30, 2022 was the FCC deadline for non-facilities-based Small Voice Service Providers (SVSP’s) to fully implement STIR/SHAKEN in the IP portions of their networks. SVSP’s provide voice services to end-users solely using connections that are not sold by them or their affiliates (basically companies that don’t have their own connection to the PSTN) There are a large number of SVSP’s that built their business on FreePBX and they want to be compliant, but they want to protect their investment in FreePBX.
The answer is the TransNexus Module for dSIPRouter. TransNexus has a SaaS solution that allows you to become STIR/SHAKEN compliant without having to deal with all of the technical details of configuring and managing STIR/SHAKEN. Our TransNexus Module makes the integration with Asterisk-based solutions such as FreePBX very easy. The steps needed to setup TransNexus
  1. Contact TransNexus and start the process of setting up an account
  2. Install dSIPRouter
  3. Setup your carrier in dSIPRouter
  4. Obtain a license for the TransNexus Module
  5. Setup an outbound route on FreePBX to send some traffic to dSIPRouter, which will communicate with TransNexus, receive the proper Identity Header and will route it out to your carriers.
The following video explains the problem space and how the module works
